I first read Epic by Patrick Kavanagh for my Junior Cert in the early '90s. At 40, I find it very hard to not consider it my favourite poem. An epic piece of work.

Thomas Hardy, one of the better ones, in a long line of great poets.

It's not often that a poem puts a shiver down my spine every time I read it, but Primo Levi's 'Song of Those Who Died in Vain' is certainly one of them.
